I only use Maps, then I cut it right off along with Location. I only use Maps, then I cut it right off along with Location. Open a browser on your PC.

From there, hit Location and you can toggle the tabs to allow or deny each app the access to your location data. Maddening, as it's a battery killer in addition to reporting every move I make.

Manage your Android device’s location settings

ID4me is an internet service that enables its users to log in to many different internet services with one account. Unlike existing global single sign on solutions like the ones from Google or Facebook, ID4me does not track and analyze the internet surfing habits of its users. ID4me will make sure that the surfing habits stay secret. Also, ID4me does not belong to an enterprise. It is an open standard that is maintained by a nonprofit organization. Anyone who wants to can participate. This way the users can chose freely between different ID4me providers and can also change the provider anytime. Further information can be found here: The last section of the technical overview explains how to set up an ID4me account: or Whenever you install an app, you'll see a list of the permissions that it requires. People don't often bother reading this, but the apps you install can request access to your contacts, messages and even your location, among other things. If you're concerned about your privacy, you should be aware of which apps can keep track of where you are. Read on to find out how to stop apps from accessing your location. It's totally reasonable that you would rather keep information about your location to yourself. It makes sense to grant some apps access to it—navigation tools, for instance—but there are plenty of the others that you might want to forbid from accessing this information. There are two ways you can go about this: either by using Android's built-in settings or using a dedicated permission control app. Jump to section: For Android 9. On, means that WiFi+, mobile networks, and GPS are used in conjunction with GPS. This is similar to what used to be called High accuracy. Off mean you'll only be using GPS to track your location. This setting was previously called Device only. Location accuracy is binary on Android Pie. Simply head over to your main Settings menu and find the bit that's dedicated to app permissions. From there, hit Location and you can toggle the tabs to allow or deny each app the access to your location data. You can also change permission for other things, such as which apps can use your camera. App permissions are the same on Pie as they were on Oreo. Just tap the toggle switch at the top to activate or deactivate as you wish. You should be mindful of the fact that this option will disable every app's ability to see your location, even ones you might want to use GPS for, like Google Maps. If that's a problem for you, check out the next option. Your general Settings menu and Location options will look similar. Ensure 'High accuracy' mode is toggled on for a good signal. Then you will see a list of sensitive features of your phone like the microphone, camera or your contacts list. Here you can select which apps have access to each, including Your location. Here, you can easily see which apps have permission and which do not. For apps like Google Maps or the Google App, it might be helpful to give them permission to access your location for convenience. But other apps might not be from a trusted source, or they may not even need your location. In that case, turn off location permission for these apps. When the switch is in the off position, your handset will stop collecting location data. You can also change the method of location reporting that is used. You can then choose between three different modes according to your preferences as shown in the image below. Your phone can use a variety of methods to determine your location. You can then investigate the settings for individual apps to see if there is a way to disable location tracking. Once your phone gets an update to Android Marshmallow or above you will have greater control over individual app permissions through the system settings. This is something else you can control. Beneath the list of apps, tap Google Location Reporting and you'll see a list of all of the accounts you have set up on your handset. In addition to apps, your location can also be tracked by various Google services. For individual applications While it is possible to disable location tracking in these older versions of Android, it is an all-or-nothing approach. As an alternative approach, is a free app that can be used to control location permission of individual apps. There are several apps with similar names in Google Play, so be sure to install the right one. Fire up the app and you'll see a list of apps that make use of location information. AppOps lets you change the location-tracking permissions of individuals apps. A setting toggle is all it takes to stop a particular app recording your location. Repeat the process for as many apps as you like. Do location tracking capabilities concern you, or are you happy to leave settings as they are? Have your say in the comments. I have tried pretty much everything this and similar sites have suggested but with no significant result. But I receive few calls less than a dozen and make fewer calls 5 per week, max so there's no reason for wi-fi calling to be randomly checking GPS. Maddening, as it's a battery killer in addition to reporting every move I make. None of this is permanent... I've turned it off on the main.. I have turned off location in every app in the app manager... I'm ready to buy an Iphone and get rid of this POS operating system.. I've never experienced Location turning itself on when the main toggle is turned off. You may need to check your settings. However, if you leave main Location on while disabling location in individual apps, Google will find you... The OS is great, except the Google parts. I only use Maps, then I cut it right off along with Location. Apple is cool, but the lack of an external SD card is a big drawback for me. Mainly I just disable Location and activate when using maps, etc. Worth mentioning that since Android L there is a very configurable Quick Settings Pull Down from the notification bar with choices for toggling Location, Data, and most other sensors and controls. So you don't really have to go scrolling around in the complicated Settings Menu. For older devices, there are very good free lightweight apps that put those toggles, rotation control, etc.

Then any app not just Tinder will then think you are in that location once you open it. Apps that can show your location on the screen, including Maps, show your current approximate location using a blue marker. Risks are inherent in the use of the Internet. Pan you turn off Google Location Accuracy, your device uses only GPS to find location. It really is that simple. It's like gaming in a small IRC room. When you finish the call or text, your settings go back to how you had them. In other words, the app is suspended almost immediately after callback. Click Delete your account one more time. Apple assumes no responsibility with regard to the selection, performance, or use of third-party badoo turn off location or products. It makes sense to grant some apps access to it—navigation tools, for instance—but there are north of the others that you might want to forbid from accessing this information.
